#TBT to our 2015 Award Winners

Our 2015 awards was a big night as we celebrated our 5th Awards.  We were also at the new location of the Delta Hotel on Lower Simcoe.  It provided us with a bigger and better venue with superb views of the CN Tower.

Matthew Hannam, CCE

James White was the first movie that I edited outside of Canada. There were many exciting parts of making the movie, but I feeling very proud at the Sundance premiere when I saw my credit with "CCE" at the end of it. It was my first feature since being made a full member and I was thrilled to put those letters on my first US film. It was such an honour to then be given with the award that year. It's such a pleasure to be in the company of so many talented people. (written in 2018)

Ricardo Acosta, CCE

"Winning the award for BEST EDITING IN DOCUMENTARY was a sweet moment of joy and blessing. Of all awards, the C.C.E Awards are of a very special nature for me because no-one  will value and understand your contribution to the crafting of a story like other fellow Editors. It was a great validation to the passion and creativity that I try to bring to a Documentary." (written in 2018)

Adam Locke-Norton

"I learned that I won when I received a text from someone congratulating me. For the next 7 minutes my dopamine levels were slightly elevated. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter involved in reward-motivated behavior." (written in 2018)

James Bredin, CCE

"Winning a CCE award was great not only because I really like this organization but because, after many nominations over many years, this was the first time that I have ever won an editing award.  It broke a very long losing streak and paved the way for my CSA win - also for Schitt's Creek - later that year. Thanks to the CCE my Susan Lucci days are over!"  (written in 2017)
