CCE Annual General Meeting DATE CHANGE
Please note that the AGM has been rescheduled for October 14th from 1pm to 5pm at Deluxe Toronto / from 10am-2pm Vancouver at a location TBA.This year will be an election year so anyone wishing to run should submit their name, position interested in running, and a brief blurb about why they think they would be a good Board member to info@cceditors.ca . Board positions include:  President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Chair, Education Outreach Chair and Web Administrator. We hope to end up with 3 people from Vancouver on the board, so, Vancouverites – step forward!Current Board members who are again running are:  Paul Winestock (President), Paul Day (V.P.), Dale Gagne (Treasurer), Gordon Burkell (Education), Nina Hirten (Web Admin).“Hatfields & McCoys” Screening and Q&A
We’re pleased to announce an evening with Emmy nominated editor, Don Cassidy C.C.E. on Thursday, September 27th from 7-9pm at Deluxe, 424 Adelaide St. E. Toronto.
Select sequences from the hit mini series “Hatfields & McCoys” will be screened, followed by a question and answer session with Don Cassidy, C.C.E. to be moderated by Paul Day, C.C.E.

This event is FREE to all CCE members / $5 for non-CCE members, but seating is limited.  RSVP to  toronto_events@cceditors.ca

CCE member films at TIFF & AFF
There are many films at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and Atlantic Film Festival with CCE editors, assistant editors and/or post supervisors & coordinators, including: Let the Daylight into the Swamp, Midnight’s Children, Inescapable, Antiviral, Home Again, Still, The Lesser Blessed, Lunarcy! and Showstopper.
We’ve been spotlighting these films & CCE members on Facebook and Twitter all week.If you’re a CCE member (full, associate or student) with a film, television show, article, workshop etc. to promote (at TIFF or in future), please send the details to:info@cceditors.ca

Upcoming CODECS Workshop
Registration has begun for our fall workshops, space is limited to 12 per class.
This month’s course:

Codecs This workshop will give you a strong foundation in understanding how codecs work; making changes to codecs, setting up projects, and delivering codecs. Learn about the tools that editors and assistants use to convert and prep files for their projects and much more!

CSC Lighting Workshop
The Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC) is offering a basic lighting workshop September 29 & 30, 2012.
This two day hands-on lighting workshop offers the participants comprehensive knowledge on the fundamentals of practical lighting setups.
Participants will work in groups and will alternate the roles of DoP, camera operator, camera assistant and gaffer. Each group is assigned a digital camera package and access to a gaffer and electric. Actors will be on hand to contribute to effective blocking and lighting setups. Content shot will be critiqued at the end of each day.
Participants are encouraged to bring a light meter (if they have one) for the practical exercises. A course manual will be provided.
$550 for non members / $450 for CSC members
